Universal Testing Machines
Hydraulic and electro-mechanical UTM, tensile and torsion
Torsion testers
Universal testing machines for tension, compression, bending, transverse and shear tests: hydraulic UTE machines from 100 to 1000 kN with enclosed pressure-transducer load measurement, and servo ball-screw electro-mechanical TNE machines with auto-detected load cells from 100 N to 100 kN. All use the microprocessor M-2301 control panel with graphing, printing, USB and RS232C PC software, and comply with ASTM, ISO and IS standards. Digital torsion testers from 60 to 2000 Nm complete the range.

IS 1828 (Part 1) · ASTM E4 · ISO 7500-1 · ASTM E8 · ISO 6892
In a tensile test a specimen of known cross-section and gauge length is gripped at both ends and stretched at a controlled rate until fracture while force and extension are recorded. From the stress–strain curve the yield or proof strength, ultimate tensile strength, elongation and reduction of area are determined as specified in ASTM E8 and ISO 6892. The same machine performs compression, bending, transverse and shear tests with the appropriate fixtures.
The force-measuring system of a universal testing machine is verified against a calibrated proving device to IS 1828 (Part 1), ASTM E4 and ISO 7500-1, and extensometers to ISO 9513 / ASTM E83, so that results are traceable across laboratories.
ETS hydraulic UTE machines cover 100 to 1000 kN with enclosed pressure-transducer load measurement, and the servo ball-screw electro-mechanical TNE machines cover 100 N to 100 kN with auto-detected load cells. All use the M-2301 microprocessor control panel with graphing, printing and PC software. Digital torsion testers to ASTM E143 and IS 1717 complete the range.
