UTE 100
Introduction

UTE 100

Largest standard machine of the UTE series: 1000 kN capacity, 750 mm column clearance, 850 mm tensile clearance and 160 mm compression plates for heavy bars, castings and structural components. Digital readouts, graphing and PC connectivity as on the whole series; 1200, 1500 and 2000 kN machines are built on request.

The UTE 100 is the largest standard machine of the hydraulic UTE series from Eklavya Techno Solutions, Ichalkaranji, India: 1000 kN capacity for heavy rebar, large fasteners, castings, forgings and structural components at steel plants, construction laboratories and heavy engineering works. The frame has 750 mm between columns, 850 mm tensile clearance, 250 mm ram stroke and 160 mm compression plates. Load is applied by a hydrostatically lubricated main ram and measured by a fully enclosed pressure transducer with 50,000 counts, giving 20 N resolution and 1 percent accuracy from 20 to 1000 kN; displacement is read by a rotary encoder to 0.1 mm.

Tooling matches the capacity: wedge jaws for 10 to 45 mm rounds and flats up to 44 mm thick and 70 mm wide, 50 mm transverse rollers with 800 mm between supports and 16 and 22 mm punch tops. A 4 HP pump gives an infinitely variable straining speed from 0 to 80 mm/min. The M-2301 microprocessor panel displays load and displacement live, prints results, graphs and batch certificates, and connects over USB and RS232C to optional Windows software for online curves and evaluation. The UTE 100 complies with IS 1828 (Part 1), ASTM E4 and ISO 7500-1. Machines of 1200, 1500 and 2000 kN are built on request.

Operation

How the test runs

  1. Fit the clamping jaws or platens for the test and position the lower crosshead with the motorised drive.
  2. Enter speed, specimen dimensions and test parameters on the control panel or in the PC software.
  3. Open the flow control to apply load; the panel shows load and displacement live and records the peak.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about UTE 100

Which rebar sizes and specimens does the UTE 100 handle?

With tensile capacity at 80 percent of 1000 kN, or 800 kN, it tests TMT rebar of 32 mm with wide margin and 40 mm at typical strengths, since a 40 mm bar at 600 MPa needs about 750 kN. The jaws take 10 to 45 mm rounds and flats to 44 mm thick, and 750 mm column clearance gives room for large bolts, castings and structural sections.

What if I need more than 1000 kN?

Eklavya Techno Solutions builds 1200, 1500 and 2000 kN machines on the same hydraulic and M-2301 platform on request. Send the specimen sizes, grades and the tests required and ETS will propose the capacity, clearances and tooling; remember that tensile testing is limited to 80 percent of capacity while compression uses the full rating.

How does it differ from the UTE 60?

The UTE 100 has 1000 kN against 600 kN, 750 mm column clearance against 600 mm, 850 mm tensile clearance, larger 10 to 45 mm jaws and flats to 44 mm, 160 mm compression plates instead of 120 mm, 800 mm support clearance for transverse tests and a 4 HP pump. Speed is 0 to 80 mm/min rather than 0 to 100 mm/min.

What does the control panel provide?

The M-2301 microprocessor panel with membrane keypad and 7-segment displays shows live load and displacement, recognises the load cell automatically, records peak load, accepts specimen dimensions, preload, rupture percentage and modulus settings, and prints results, graphs and batch certificates. USB and RS232C connect optional Windows software for online plotting and curve evaluation.

Which standards does the UTE 100 comply with?

The force-measuring system is verified to IS 1828 (Part 1), ASTM E4 and ISO 7500-1. The machine then runs tensile, bend and compression tests to IS 1608, IS 1786, ASTM E8 and ISO 6892. ETS installs, levels and load-verifies the machine on site anywhere in India and offers AMC and operator training.

What are the power and installation needs?

A 4 HP pump motor on a 400 to 440 V three-phase supply. Tensile clearance is 50 to 850 mm and compression clearance 0 to 850 mm with the piston fully descended. Because of the machine mass and column height, ask ETS for the foundation drawing and floor dimensions before preparing the site.
