Introduction

ETS-TNE-2.5T

Microcontroller-based, servo-driven electro-mechanical universal testing machine of 25 kN (2.5 t) frame capacity for metals, polymers, composites, textiles, rubber and more. The AC servo ball-screw drive gives smooth, backlash-free motion from 1 to 500 mm/min, and interchangeable, auto-detected load cells from 250 N to 25 kN cover wires, sheets, plastics and small fasteners.

The ETS-TNE-2.5T is the 25 kN (2.5 t) frame of the electro-mechanical ETS-TNE universal testing machine series manufactured by Eklavya Techno Solutions in Ichalkaranji, India. A high-precision AC servo motor and ball-screw drive move the crosshead smoothly and without backlash at any speed from 1 to 500 mm/min, and auto-detected strain-gauge load cells from 250 N to 25 kN give direct readout in N or kN on the M-2301 microprocessor panel. The frame sits between the 10 kN TNE-1T and the 50 kN TNE-5T and is the usual choice where wires, sheets, plastics and small fasteners are all tested on one machine.

Typical users are polymer and packaging plants, wire and cable makers, automotive component suppliers testing clips, springs and small stampings, and engineering colleges. Wedge, vice and threaded grips, compression plates, bending fixtures and shear attachments cover tension, compression, flexural and shear tests, and the optional EE2 extensometer with 1 micrometre resolution adds strain and modulus measurement. The panel prints results, graphs and batch certificates and connects over USB and RS232C to optional Windows software with curve plotting and evaluation. Overload protection and limit switches are standard. The TNE-2.5T runs on single-phase 230 V and complies with IS 1828 (Part 1), ASTM E4, ISO 7500-1, ASTM E8 and ISO 6892.

Operation

How the test runs

  1. Fit the load cell (auto-detected) and the grips or fixture for the test.
  2. Enter speed, specimen dimensions and test parameters on the panel or in the PC software.
  3. Start the test; the servo drive moves the crosshead at the set speed while load and extension are recorded.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about ETS-TNE-2.5T

Which load cells are offered on the TNE-2.5T?

Auto-detected cells of 250 N, 500 N, 1 kN, 2.5 kN, 5 kN, 10 kN and 25 kN, with others on request. The machine recognises whichever cell is fitted and configures its range, so a wire test at a few hundred newtons and a 25 kN tensile test on a small steel specimen can be run on the same frame in the same session with full accuracy.

What materials and products suit this capacity?

Plastic sheet and moulded specimens, films and packaging, textiles, rubber, leather, fibreglass, wire and cable, springs, small fasteners, clips and stampings, and small machined metal specimens up to about 25 kN breaking force. Use the 25 kN cell for metals and lower cells for soft materials so the force falls in the accurate part of the range.

How does it compare with the TNE-1T and TNE-5T?

All three share the servo ball-screw drive, 1 to 500 mm/min speed range, M-2301 panel and single-phase supply. The TNE-1T is a 10 kN frame with cells from 100 N; the TNE-2.5T is 25 kN with cells from 250 N; the TNE-5T is 50 kN with cells from 500 N. Choose by the highest force you need, keeping headroom above your strongest specimen.

What tests can it run?

Tension with wedge, vice or threaded grips, compression with plates, three-point bending and flexural tests with bending fixtures, and shear with the shear attachment. Peel, tear and spring tests are possible with the appropriate fixtures. Speed is set digitally or by potentiometer, and load and extension are recorded and printed or sent to the PC software.

Which standards apply and what safety features are included?

The load-measuring system is verified to IS 1828 (Part 1), ASTM E4 and ISO 7500-1 and the machine runs tensile tests to ASTM E8 and ISO 6892 as well as ASTM, ISO and IS methods for non-metals. Overload protection and upper and lower limit switches are standard; an optional remote handset is available. Confirm frame capacity and cell range with ETS when ordering.
