Introduction

ETS-TNE-10T

Microcontroller-based, servo-driven electro-mechanical universal testing machine of 100 kN (10 t) frame capacity, the largest of the ETS-TNE series, for metals, polymers, composites, textiles, rubber and more. The AC servo ball-screw drive gives smooth, backlash-free motion from 1 to 500 mm/min, and interchangeable, auto-detected load cells from 1 kN to 100 kN cover sheets and rods up to fasteners and bars.

The ETS-TNE-10T is the 100 kN (10 t) frame, the largest of the electro-mechanical ETS-TNE universal testing machine series from Eklavya Techno Solutions, Ichalkaranji, India. A high-precision AC servo motor and ball-screw drive give smooth, backlash-free crosshead motion from 1 to 500 mm/min, and auto-detected strain-gauge load cells from 1 kN to 100 kN read out directly in N or kN on the M-2301 microprocessor panel. It brings servo-controlled speed and interchangeable-cell accuracy to a capacity that overlaps the hydraulic UTE 10, which makes it the choice where metals, composites and polymers are all tested to tight speed and accuracy requirements.

Typical work includes machined steel and aluminium tensile specimens, welded coupons, sheet and plate samples, composite laminates, fasteners and small bars, alongside plastics and rubber on the lower cells. Wedge, vice and threaded grips, compression plates, bending fixtures and shear attachments cover the test types, and the optional EE2 extensometer with 1 micrometre resolution serves modulus and yield determination. The panel prints results, graphs and batch certificates and connects over USB and RS232C to optional Windows software with online plotting, superimposed graphs and curve evaluation. Overload protection and limit switches are standard. The TNE-10T runs on single-phase 230 V and complies with IS 1828 (Part 1), ASTM E4, ISO 7500-1, ASTM E8 and ISO 6892.

Operation

How the test runs

  1. Fit the load cell (auto-detected) and the grips or fixture for the test.
  2. Enter speed, specimen dimensions and test parameters on the panel or in the PC software.
  3. Start the test; the servo drive moves the crosshead at the set speed while load and extension are recorded.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about ETS-TNE-10T

When should I choose the TNE-10T over the hydraulic UTE 10?

Choose the TNE-10T when you need precise speed control from 1 to 500 mm/min, single-phase power, quiet operation and accurate low-force testing on the same frame using cells down to 1 kN, typical of R&D, composites and polymer laboratories. Choose the UTE 10 for heavy shop-floor use on bars, castings and compression work where hydraulic robustness matters more.

Which load cells and specimens does it cover?

Auto-detected cells of 1 kN, 2.5 kN, 5 kN, 10 kN, 25 kN, 50 kN and 100 kN, others on request. The 100 kN cell handles machined steel specimens, welded coupons, small bars and fasteners; the middle cells suit aluminium, sheet metal and composites; the 1 to 5 kN cells serve plastics, rubber and wire with full accuracy.

How is the crosshead speed controlled?

The AC servo motor holds the set speed through the ball screw regardless of load, and the speed is entered digitally on the M-2301 panel or set with a potentiometer between 1 and 500 mm/min. Constant crosshead speed is what ASTM E8, ISO 6892 and the plastics and rubber test methods call for during the test.

What safety and protection features are built in?

Overload protection stops the drive if the load cell limit is approached, upper and lower limit switches prevent the crosshead over-travelling, and the rigid, vibration-free frame keeps the machine stable during fracture. An optional remote handset lets the operator jog the crosshead while loading specimens from beside the machine.

Which standards does the TNE-10T comply with?

The load-measuring system is verified to IS 1828 (Part 1), ASTM E4 and ISO 7500-1, and the machine performs tensile tests to ASTM E8 and ISO 6892 plus the ASTM, ISO and IS methods for non-metals. ETS installs and verifies it on site across India. Confirm frame capacity and cell range for your application with ETS when ordering.
