Two families. Every spring covered.

Force-based spring testing machines for compression and tension springs, and a dedicated torsion spring testing machine for torque-versus-angle work. Compare the spring tester models in the table, then share your spring drawing for a configured quote.

Family 01

Spring Testing Machines

Digital spring load testers for compression and tension springs, from 50 kgf to 500 kgf. A digital load cell reads force directly, displacement comes from a digital scale or rotary encoder, and loading is by hand-wheel or motorized drive on two hard-chrome-plated guide columns.

Model Series

ETS-STM

Four capacities — 50, 100, 200 and 500 kgf — on a common twin-column platform with up to 300 mm travel. Compression springs sit between flat platens; tension springs mount with hook or threaded adapters.

Family 02

Torsion Spring Testing Machine

Measures the torque a torsion spring develops against its angular deflection. A digital torque cell and angle encoder record torque-at-angle in both clockwise and anti-clockwise directions, with peak torque hold and selectable torque ranges for resolution where you need it.

Applications

Who tests springs on our machines.

From high-volume spring plants to single-lab QC benches — the same load-cell measurement chain serves incoming inspection, in-process checks and final certification against the customer drawing.

Spring Manufacturers

In-process and final inspection of compression, tension and torsion springs — load-at-length and rate checks straight off the coiler.

Automotive

Valve springs, suspension coil springs and clutch springs — QC of safety-critical parts where load tolerance directly affects performance.

Railways

Bogie and buffer springs, draw-gear and brake-system springs — verification against drawing values before fitment.

Agriculture Equipment

Tine, tension and return springs on tillage and harvesting machinery — checking rate and set after hardening and tempering.

Electrical Switchgear

Operating-mechanism and contact-pressure springs in breakers and switchgear, where consistent spring force means reliable switching.

Pen & Hardware Springs

Fine springs for pens, locks, latches and general hardware — low-capacity models resolve small loads cleanly.

Why Test Springs

Four checks every spring drawing asks for.

A spring is specified by what it does under load, not just its dimensions. Testing aligned to IS 7906 and customer specifications turns those drawing values into pass/fail numbers your QC can sign off.

Load At Length

Verify force at the working height.

Compress or extend the spring to the specified length and confirm the force falls within drawing tolerance — the single most common acceptance check for production springs.

Rate (Stiffness)

Measure force per millimetre of deflection.

Take readings at two or more deflections to calculate spring rate, confirming wire diameter, coil count and heat treatment have produced the stiffness the design expects.

Free Length

Check the unloaded reference dimension.

The digital displacement readout establishes free length before loading, so every load-at-length result is measured from a verified zero — not an assumed one.

Set & Relaxation

Confirm the spring returns and holds.

Load, release and re-measure to check for permanent set; hold at length to observe relaxation. Both checks catch material and heat-treatment problems before parts ship.

FAQ

Spring testing, answered.

The questions buyers ask most before choosing a spring or torsion spring testing machine.

A torsion spring testing machine measures the torque a torsion spring produces against its angular deflection. The spring is mounted between fixtures, rotated clockwise or anti-clockwise, and a digital torque cell with an angle encoder records torque at each angle — so you can verify torque-at-angle values against the spring drawing and hold peak torque readings.
Spring testing machines for compression and tension springs are offered from 50 kgf to 500 kgf — models ETS-STM-50, 100, 200 and 500. Torsion spring tester capacities are configured to the application; share your spring drawing or a sample and we will recommend the right torque range and fixtures.
Yes. The same machine tests compression springs between flat platens and extension (tension) springs using hook or threaded adapters. The digital load cell reads force in both directions, so load-at-length and rate checks can be done for either spring type on one platform.
Every machine is supplied calibrated and verified before despatch, with testing aligned to IS 7906 and customer specifications. We also support periodic recalibration and servicing of installed machines — contact us to schedule a calibration visit or factory recalibration.
